Try 4 different ways to shop & save this Black Friday

Avoid waiting even longer in line by using these four websites!

Each year, retailers make changes to their marketing and sale approaches to attract your holiday dollars.  Before you camp out for the midnight opening at the local retail store, do your homework!  Check out four websites that will change the way you shop & save this Black Friday!

Black Friday Websites

1.  Slickdeals.net (link)

The best resource available to shoppers is Slickdeals.net.  The reason I listed this site as the top way to save & shop this Black Friday is because Slickdeals.net is the #1 shopping social network and community-driven deal sharing site on the internet.  If you’re planning on buying from anything, you need to look first at Slickdeals.net to quickly & easily see what the best deals are and where they are.

Check out the Black Friday section of Slickdeals.net to see what’s being planned for the kickoff to the holiday shopping season.

2. Amazon (link)

When it comes to online shopping, one site that always comes to mind is Amazon.  Being the largest online retailer, Amazon sells almost anything you could want.  Add to that a 30 day FREE trial of Amazon Prime, which gives you free two-day shipping with no minimum purchase, you’re guaranteed to find a deal for an item on your holiday shopping list!

Amazon isn’t just running specials this Friday, they’ve dedicated a whole week to kickoff your holiday shopping.

3. Woot (link)

Woot made the list because of its business model:  Sell 1 discounted product at a time.  Typically, Woot runs the discounted product for a 24 hours, but expect a Woot-off during Black Friday when different discounted products will sell every hour for the next 1-3 days.

While checking back often during the upcoming Woot-Off, keep your eyes peeled for the Random Crap sale.  Random Crap (or Bag of Crap for us old-school Woot shoppers) is a $5.00 purchase for 3 random items from the Woot warehouse (products vary in value and quality).  Random Crap sales go quick, so don’t hesitate if you see it appear!

You can also get the WootWatch app for your iPhone to keep tabs away from your computer.

4. Monoprice (link)

Lastly, one of my anytime favorites is a shopping site that you can rely on throughout the entire year.  Monoprice makes the list for its ability to undercut the best promotions on cables, wall mounts, and other AV accessories you will find this holiday season.  If you’re the kind of person that picks up a Philips 3′ High Speed HDMI Cable  sitting next to the gift you really wanted, like a 46″ Westinghouse 1080p LCD HDTV at Target, grab just the TV and order a an 3′ HDMI Cable from Monoprice when you get home. Why pay $15.79 for the Philips cable, when you can pay just $2.50?  That’s a savings of over 84 percent!

Tip!Shopping Tip: It is the opinion of this blogger that 99% of you will not notice the difference between generic and name-brand HDMI cables.  HDMI cables send the signal digitally, material quality of the cable does not impact the quality of the audio or picture.

BONUS! Black Friday Challenge

Are you planning on shopping this Friday?  Try crowdsourcing your holiday shopping on a social network like Twitter and Facebook using the hash tag #BlackFriday.  See if others in your social network can help you out with:

  • Getting a price check on a product at other stores
  • Getting a second opinion whether or not one product is an acceptable alternative for another
  • Letting others know how well a particular store is handling the shopping crowd.
